Reverse osmosis is one of the most versatile and widely deployed water treatment technologies available. By forcing water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane, it removes dissolved salts, minerals, contaminants, and impurities to a degree that no conventional filtration process can match. The result is high-purity water suitable for drinking, process use, boiler feed, and a wide range of other applications.
Hydrotec designs and delivers RO systems across the full range of feed water sources and output requirements - from compact packaged units producing 1 m³/day through to large-scale installations at 10,000 m³/day and above. We work with M&E consultants and contractors, developers, facilities managers, and site operators globally.

Access to clean water cannot be taken for granted.
In many parts of the world, mains water supply is unavailable, unreliable, or of insufficient quality for its intended use. Across the Middle East and North Africa in particular, freshwater scarcity is a structural challenge - groundwater reserves are being depleted, surface water is limited, and population and economic growth continue to place increasing demand on existing supply infrastructure. For buildings, developments, and industries in these regions, the ability to produce potable or process-grade water independently of the municipal network is not a luxury but a necessity.
Water security has also become a strategic infrastructure consideration. Governments, developers, and large facility operators increasingly recognise that resilient, on-site water production is an essential component of long-term operational planning - particularly for critical facilities such as hospitals, hotels, and industrial sites where supply interruption carries serious consequences.

The feed water source determines the system design.
Seawater and brackish water present very different treatment challenges. Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) operates at significantly higher pressures to overcome the osmotic pressure of a high-salinity feed, and requires robust pre-treatment to protect the membranes from fouling. Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) is suited to lower-salinity sources - boreholes, brackish aquifers, and inland surface water - and operates at lower pressure with generally lower energy consumption. Both produce high-quality permeate suitable for potable supply or further treatment depending on the application.
Beyond desalination, RO is widely used to produce consistent-quality process water from mains or pre-treated feed - for boiler feed water, cooling systems, commercial and industrial process applications, and anywhere that dissolved solids in the supply present a problem for equipment or product quality.
Our Solutions
